Hi, I’m Alex.
I’m a psychotherapist in San Francisco specializing in anxiety, working with adults and teenagers.
Even at its best, life can feel like a series of “interesting” challenges. You might go weeks or months feeling like you have it all figured out, and then an unexpected problem suddenly hits:
Complications in a relationship
The realization that your child is becoming an independent (and sometimes difficult) teenager
A sudden turn of luck in your career
Sadness or a lack of motivation that won’t go away
Fear about life, the world, or even seemingly nothing at all
And all of a sudden, it feels like too much.
As a therapist, I’ve helped many people through moments like these. I’m here to help you reach your goals: to help you find parts of yourself that you thought were gone, to learn new coping skills, and to find fulfillment in your life.
How I Got Here
I came to this field after time in very different roles: marketing in the video game industry for 20 years, working as a public school teacher, and studying history and music.
I started training in mental health as an in-house therapist for formerly homeless clients in public housing units in San Francisco, and have also worked with college students, children in public school, and couples in crisis.
I’ve also worked as a clinical trainer and university professor helping new therapists to develop skills in their first year of practice.
